Backup & Restore Outlook Express
How often you are backup your mail? Is it important for you?
If you are using Outlook Express and neet to backup and/or need to restore to another computer/laptop. And you don’t know where is mail-box store. Please try to do some step below;
Where is mail-box of Outlook Express?
- Open “Outlook Express” program
- Click “Tools” then select “Options”
- Click ”Maintenance” Tab and then click “Store Folder”
- Copy Location to “Windows Explorer” and you will find it
- All of files are “Mail-Box” of Outlook Express
- Copy to any external media as you like

How to Restore from Backup?
- Open ”Outlook Express” program
- Click menu “File” then click “Import” and select “Message”
- Select “Microsoft Outlook Express” then click “Next”
- Specify Location or click ”Main Identity” if you don’t specific and click “OK”
- Select your backup “Mail-Box” drive and location, then click “Next”
- Select message folder and then click “Next”
- Wait … for Import message
- Click “Finish” when done

How to backup Outlook Express Mail Box ?
Many people still using “Outlook Express” for check / send mail, this is a program including in Windows (However we can upgrade outlook by install Internet Explorer 6) (IE6 will install both IE6 + Oulook Express 6 too)
For protecting the accident from any unfortunately, we should backup your important data by do the following step

Check E-mail Folder
- Open Outlook Express Program
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Maintenance tab, click Store Folder.
- Select the folder location, and then press CTRL+C to copy the location.
- Click Cancel, and then click Cancel again to close the dialog box.
Open Folder
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, press CTRL+V, and then click OK. (or open Windows Explorer and press CTRL+V on the address bar)
- On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy, and then close the window.
- Right-click any empty space on your desktop, click New, and then click Folder.
- Type name of folder “Mailbox Backup” then press ENTER.
- Double-click the Mail Backup folder to open it.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
- Done
