The easy way to change desktop icons in Windows Vista, just do the follow step below; 

How to change desktop icons in Windows Vista?

  1. Right-click on Desktop and select “Perosonalize”
  2. Click “Change desktop icons”
  3. You will see “Desktop Icons Settings”
  4. Customize Desktop Icons

  5. Select any icons you need to change such as “Computer”
  6. Click “Change Icon” button
  7. Select any Icon and click “OK”

If you need to change all icons back to the original, just select “Restore Default” (Item number 3)
