Top 5 Windows Command - Don’t Miss

All commands use by using select menu “Start” and select “RUN”

  1. cmd.exe - Run command prompt  (related command,  dir (list all file and directory), cd (change directory), ipconfig (view and manage ip address) and etc.)
  2. chkdsk.exe - very useful for check disk, verify disk and repair disk problems
  3. regedit.exe - View and mange Windows Registry (This is command for advanced user only)
  4. gpedit.msc - Group Policy (This is command for advanced user only)
  5. msconfig.exe - View and mange System Configuration Utility such as “disable start up,  services”

Add “RUN” command back to Start Menu into Windows Vista

For Windows Vista user,  Do you remember “RUN” command for using many opportunities.  Such as “Regedit” to edit Windows Registry, using “CMD” for run on DOS prompt.

Into Windows Vista, Still have “RUN” as “Commmand Prompt” but add into “All Programs” menu

How to adding “Command Prompt” to Start Menu inot Windows Vista?

  1. Right-click on ”Start” button and then click “Properties”
  2. In the Start Menu tab, Click the “Customize… button
  3. Scroll down to “Run command” and check box
  4. Click “OK” and “OK” again to close Windows
