Power Management for Laptop

Save Power, Save World 

If you are using LapTop or portable computer, you can save your using battery power before you run out of work.  In Windows XP, you can configure power management to reduce electronics usage.

How to configure power management in Windows XP?

  1. Log on as “administrator”
  2. Click “Start” and then click “Control Panel”
  3. Click “Performance and Maintenance”
  4. Click “Power Options”
  5. Click “Power Schemes” tab
  6. On Power shemes, select “Portable/Laptop”  or select most closely matches how you use computer.
  7. Power Options

  8. Set up any details as your need
  9. Click “Advanced” tab, change “When I close the lid of my portable computer”  select option “Stand by”
  10. On “Hibernate” tab, select “Enable hibernation”
  11. Click “OK” to confirm
